Worker Concept The term worker is generally used to designate a manufacturing employee that above all performs physical work, having little or none participation in management and in the process of decision taking in general, headed directly by someone to whom is normally given the name supervisor. Depending on the developed activities, the worker can be specialized or polyvalent and more or less qualified. Currently the tendency id that the workers be more polyvalent and qualified as a way to guarantee, on one hand, a bigger production flexibility and, on the other hand, a higher quality and autonomy at work.
