Max Weber Life and Work

Max Weber, German sociologist, was the founder of the Bureaucracy Theory, which can be considered as an evolution of Fayol’s Classic Theory. Bureaucracy Theory emerged from the needs of strict hierarchy definitions, rules and regulations and the authority lines. Even though continues to be currently used successfully in several organizations, bureaucracy fell into disuse due to the impersonality associated to it, the structural stiffness (preventing innovation and creativity) and the delays that causes in the processes.
