SWOT Analysis Concept
SWOT Analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses,
Opportunities and Threats) whose creation is assigned to Kenneth Andrews
and Roland Christensen, two Harvard Business School professors, consists
on an evaluation model of the competitive position of an organization in
the market. That evaluation of competitive position is made through the
resource of a mold of two axis (the internal variables axis and the
external variable axis), each one of which compose by two variables:
strong points (Strengths) and weak points (Weaknesses) of the
organization; Opportunities and Threats of the surroundings.
When building the mold the variables are
overlapped, smoothing its analyses and the search for suggestions for
the decision making, being an indispensable tool in the shaping of a
Business Plan and in definition of Strategies.
Below is made the graphic representation
of the mold, with the generic suggestions for each one of the quadrants
that compose it.
