Subordinate Concept The concept subordinate is directly related with hierarchy and means the person who is immediately below another person on a hierarchy line and that, therefore, is directly dependant from his orders and supervision. This way, all organization members are subordinates of another person (his hierarchy superior) except, obviously, the person who occupies the top of the hierarchy.
