Recruitment and Selection Concept Recruitment and selection are two activities of human resources management which last end is the hiring of new employees for the organization. Despite being part of the same process, the activities can be characterized as two phases that occur sequentially: . Recruitment: corresponds to a group of techniques and methods destined to attract candidates able to occupy certain positions or develop certain tasks in the organization. Recruitment can be made inside the organization (internal recruitment) or outside of the organization (external recruitment). . Selection: is the phase that follows recruitment and corresponds to the choice of people depending on the organizations’ needs and the wishes of the people themselves. It can be said that the selection corresponds to the comparison between the candidates profile and the position or duty demands.
