Biography of Michael E. Porter

Michael Porter is a famous economist and manager, professor at Harvard, with several publications in the strategy and competitiveness area. Born in 1947, Michael Porter is considered the most academic of the gurus and one of the biggest world specialists in strategy. He obtained his PHD in Economy at Harvard, after his Aeronautic Engineering graduation at Princeton. Professor at Harvard Business School and leader of the Monitor Consulting, among his contributions for management is highlighted the industries structural analysis model, the value chain notion and the competitive advantage theory (for companies and for nations).

His most famous works are Competitive Strategy, Competitive Advantage and Nations Competitive Advantage.
