Multi-credit Decision Support Methods (MCDSM) Concept

Multi-credit Decision Support Methods (MCDSM) consists in a set of methods that have as goal to support, clarify and lead the Decision Taking Process (DTP), trying to incorporate the judgment of values of the “Actor”, intended to support and follow the way how preferences develop, and understanding the process as learning.

Thus, MCDSM has as goal to add value to the relevant information and support the decision taking. Being sure that its goal isn’t to present only one solution classified as the best solution, they aim to support DTP, through recommendations to the decider or deciders of actions or course of actions. This way, seek to clarify DTP, trying to incorporate judgment of values, with the intention to follow the way how the preferences develop, and understanding the process as learning. Evolution and complexity of the systems and organizations, as well as the investigation developed in the Decision Taking process, makes that these methods, currently, focus more and more the strategic perspective.

The Multi-credit Decision Support techniques are dived in multi-attribute and multi-goal problems. Multi-attribute problems apply to problems with discrete alternatives, while multi-goals apply to problems that consider as continuous space of alternatives.
