Competitive Advantage (Book) Concept

Competitive Advantage is one of the bigger bestsellers of all time in the management and strategy area. Authored by Michael E. Porter, and published for the first time in 1985, this book describes the way how companies can create and support a competitive advantage in the market. For that, it’s presented the way how managers can evaluate their competitive position and how they can implement the several needed specific steps and actions for their improvement.

Competitive Advantage still introduces a new and powerful instrument that the strategist needs to diagnose and promote the company’s competitive advantage: the values chain. The values chain analysis allows the manager to analyze separately all of the activities performed in a company in: project, production, marketing and distribution.
