Work Concept In the economic science scope, the term work designates one of the productive factors used by companies for the production of goods. Like any other productive factor, work also has a specific market where can be transacted: the work market. In the work market, the offer is made by the people who want to work and the search is made by the companies who wish that same work as productive factor needed for production. To the price formed in this market by the meeting of the offer with the search, is given the designation of salary. In the theoretical economic models, the productive factor work is usually considered as variable, allowing to be adjusted in a short term according to the production level.
