Presentation of the American Federal Reserve

American Federal Reserve or Federal Reserve System (also known as “Fed”) is the United States of America central bank. Are assigned to it all the functions usually assigned to central banks namely the leading of the monetary policy and the supervision of all North American bank system. Beyond that, the American Federal Reserve is still responsible for the production of macro-economic information.

Federal Reserve is formed by an Administration Council (Board of Directors) of seven members, whose have the responsibility to manage the federal bank system. Its members are chosen by the president of the United States and later ratified by the Senate.
